My research interests converge at the intersection of public policy, technological innovation, and learning. This includes a particular interest in economics and social change. My current research looks at the social impact of artificial intelligence, particularly 'intelligence augmentation' and the future of work. I have written or edited eight books across a range of academic subjects, and I write for various media platforms including Futurism, the Brookings Institution, Singularity Hub, and Medium. I am also a film producer with a special interest in science fiction and the future of human evolution. I am currently developing a new conference on Smart Cities for 2017 in Toronto, Canada with keynotes from thought leaders on entrepreneurship and urbanization.
